Shockingly, I was pretty happy when finishing this movie. It gave me a feel-good vibe. It was a delightful movie. I say this because these types of films have weak plots and terrible castings. But this time, I think it all gelled together pretty well.
Baked in Brooklyn, directed by Rory Rooney, stars Josh Brener and Alexandra Daddario.
It tells us the story of David (Josh Brener), a guy who lost his job. To make some quick cash he decides to SELL WEED ON THE INTERNET.
However, his notably seductive girlfriend (Alexandra Daddario) and his two roommates were against it, but David kept going.
Eventually, being known for his fast delivery and reliability, demand rises, and supply decreases.
He starts working more, losing touch with his way out of his league girlfriend and his friends. Eventually, she broke up with him.
After being threatened by his supplier, he finally decides to quit the weed business and tries to get a job as a writer.
He tracks Kate and finds out she is back with her ex. But he makes a ballsy move and kisses her in front of that ex. He then leaves her with a huge smile and rides away on his bike while being chased by the blonde jock.
I enjoyed this movie.
The characters and the castings were good. David (Josh Brener) is a nerdy character, the kind to play video games and live in his parent's basement. On the other hand, his girlfriend, Alexandra Daddario, is beautiful and hot as always 😉. She portrays a girl, fresh out of college who falls for the fun and wonderful nerd. Their relationship seemed pretty good.
As the movie goes on, David sees his life falls apart. He loses his job, girlfriend, almost his life, then decides to start fresh, and find his girlfriend, and sees her with her ex.
It was a roller coaster of emotions. And It made me feel bad watching him seeing her with the ex.
But I think it ended up well for him. Turns out the whole movie was a life story, and he was narrating it to an audience. Also guessing by Kate’s (Alexandra Daddario) smile after being kissed in front of her new boyfriend, I think that re-ignited a fire in her. So I guess things worked out for the atypical couple.
